A 21-year-old lawyer, Steven spent a decade at Hewlett-Packard in leadership positions in the U.S. and Asia Pacific, with several years as Vice President, South Pacific General Counsel. Previously, he practiced law with Norton Rose and Baker McKenzie in London, Sydney and Germany. He is a Fellow of the College of Law Australia (Master of Legal Affairs programme) and teaches legal services, strategy, technology and transformation. He has contributed to the New South Wales Law Society`s Future of Law and Innovation in the Profession (FLIP) initiative and the International Bar Association`s Future of Law report. Previously, he was a member of the Advisory Board of the World Commerce and Contracting Association (formerly IACCM). He has extensive legal experience in resource improvement, process efficiency, governance, shared service centres and business measurement initiatives. He has worked on topics such as contract management, supply chain optimization, risk and compliance, regulatory change, and legal entity management. Bob is a Managing Director in the Corporate Legal Practice of Deloitte Tax LLP. Legal Business Services leverages Deloitte`s holistic multidisciplinary approach to deliver innovative solutions to the entire legal department. Bob focuses on legal affairs and the transformation of the legal department, particularly by further developing legal transactions and building the legal services model of the future.
Big Four law firm Deloitte Legal has once again expanded its legal ranks in the UK with the addition of the former head of employment at DLA Piper in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Deloitte, Steven was Global Head of Law Consulting at Elevate Services, a pioneering legal services firm. He specializes in assisting legal services with the transition to the next generation of legal delivery services and operations. Steven has led several complex legal and contractual transformations, implementing and managing new service solutions and digital strategies based on cutting-edge technologies, analytics and metrics, as well as lean processes, combined with innovative workforce strategies and procurement models that drive quantifiable business savings and quality improvements. His knowledge of legal service delivery is unique and has evolved as a consumer and legal service provider responsible for acquiring, structuring, managing and delivering complex legal and operational services in rapidly changing legal and law firm environments. Lori is a Managing Director at Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP and leads research and knowledge for the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) program. In this role, she designs research initiatives related to advocacy and in particular internal consulting, leading both the creation of innovative research projects and the management of the application of research results on the CLO platform. Richard has over 20 years of experience helping clients improve digital processes and initiatives through outsourced services and technology programs. Legal Managed Services & Legal Management Consulting Julia Gorham was Head of Employment at DLA Piper in Hong Kong between 2014 and 2017 and joins Deloitte Legal from Seyfarth Shaw, where she was a partner for just over four years. He is an active volunteer in professional and civil society organizations. He has been a mentor lawyer for Discovering Justice, an organization that empowers students to embrace the values of civic responsibility, and is also a member of the Stonehill College President`s Advisory Group and a member of the Advisory Board of Suffolk Law School`s Program for Legal Innovation and Technology.
Bob was appointed legal counsel to the American Bar Association for the Center for Innovation in 2017 and remains in that role. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and American Studies from Stonehill College, a Doctor of Laws from New England and an MBA from the Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University. Over the past two years, Deloitte Legal has more than doubled the number of UK lawyers and tripled the number of partners.
